Aussie designer and quilter Michelle Hill creates stunning Arts and Crafts applique in the William Morris tradition.

Her debut fabrics for In the Beginning Fabrics features beautiful prints which owe their inspiration to William Morris.

Their verdant tendrils of vines and foliage over extend their natural bounds with swirls that insinuates that Nature’s vitality has no bounds.

This theme of Nature’s power coupled with the printing execution rooted in the tradition of fabric weaving signified the Arts and Crafts movement.

Michele Hill has designed Morris Meadows, her second fabric collection, inspired by the work of William Morris.

Being a quilter herself, Michele approaches her design process with finished quilts in mind.

Along with the absolutely gorgeous floral and border prints that bring such richness to her quilts, Michele also makes sure that her collections include the tonals which play a vital role in her floral applique blocks.
